Towing Electrics

Towing electrics

Vehicle Spec/Dedicated/Plug-In Electrics.

Advances in automotive electrics have introduced numerous comfort and safety system into vehicle electrics.

In many cases not only have the vehicle manufacturers designed the vehicles to detect a trailer/caravan but also change the way a vehicle operates when towing.

These changes can include:

  • ESP becomes TSP to help correct 'snaking'
  • Brake electronics
  • Suspension system
  • Engine electronics
  • Parking sensor deactivation
  • Engine cooling system
  • Cruise Control
  • Lane change assistant

The vehicle may also require coding with a dedicated diagnostic tool to activate the towing features.

Towcraft can carry out the necessary coding to most vehicle's during the installation process.

12N, 12N/12S or 13pin? Universal Electrics or Vehicle Specific (plug-in) electrics? Does my Vehicle need re-coding?                  Who can help?

At Towcraft we have the answers to your questions and concerns when it comes to towing electrics.
