MOT TESTING.
The MOT is an annual test of vehicle safety & roadworthiness. It is required by law in the UK and is applicable to most vehicles over three years old.
An MOT is NOT the same as a vehicle service.
Aspects of the vehicle examined during an MOT test are:
Identification of Vehicle
Brake Performance
Steering
Visibility
Lamps, Reflectors & Electrical Equipment
Axles, Wheels, Tyres & Suspension
Body, Structure & Attachments
Other Equipment
Nuisance (noise, emissions etc)
We are an approved MOT Testing Station for class 4 petrol & diesel vehicles.
MOT tests are available Monday - Friday by appointment.
Vehicle Servicing
A vehicle service is not a legal requirement like an MOT test but is an important factor in maintaining the road worthiness of your vehicle.
At Towcraft we offer the options of either an annual service to our own specifications (see below) or servicing to the vehicle manufacturers recommendations.
Towcraft Annual Service will include:
Oil & filter change
Brake system inspection
Inspecting suspension & steering components
Checking lighting, wipers, washers
Check wheels & tyres
Check/top up fluid levels
Servicing carried out to manufacturers specifications can be on a time/mileage basis or by a vehicles service indicator. Manufacturers will specify when items such as pollen filters, fuel filters, air filters, spark plugs, brake fluid and timing belts require replacing in addition to the items checked on our annual service.
Service Indicators are reset where possible, this is subject to the availability of the required equipment & data.
